The Role:
The Admissions Manager – South Asia Hub provides operational leadership to the South Asia admissions teams on international admissions and enrolment matters by liaising with onshore international admissions team and other central units to ensure robust and efficient processes for the selection and admission of international students are in place and adhered to. This includes but is not limited to planning and developing international admissions operations, services, ensuring that international staff are adequately trained and relevant systems, processes and procedures are implemented.
The manager is expected to provide strategic and operational advice to senior management on all aspects of international admissions and related student and business services matters.
Reporting:
The Recruitment Adviser will report directly to the Assistant Director, International Admissions with whom they will work closely.
Key responsibilities:
  • Manage, mentor and provide effective leadership to admissions staff delivering high quality services to prospective international students and their agents, facilitating all stages of applications in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Monitor all admissions processes to ensure that timelines, turnaround time and agreed KPIs are met. This includes monitoring admissions workloads and allocation of available resources to maintain business outputs, and the provision of regular training and updates on admissions systems and processes.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure that applications are assessed correctly and consistently based on published entry requirements and the university admissions and selection policy. Identify areas of improvement and provide the team with training and regular updates to increase efficiency and accuracy and up to date knowledge in international education sector.
  • Work closely with Associate Director, Admissions, Pathways and Operations, Assistant Director, International Admissions and International Admissions Manager to develop, implement and review procedures to ensure the operations of admissions at the South Asia Hub as well as student appeals are undertaken in accordance with University policies, and legislation.
  • Work closely with Assistant Director, International Admissions to monitor and manage University’s immigration evidentiary level for international students from South Asia.
  • Establish and maintain communication initiatives between South Asia Hub Admissions and other internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to international recruitment and Global Sales and Conversion to foster streamlined processes and problem solving mechanisms
  • Undertake regular comprehensive internal management reporting and monitoring on all aspects of South Asia Hub Admissions, including the provision of such reports to management and recruitment teams. Such reporting will include performance against targets, enrolments, pathways, tracking reports, predictive analyses and other related areas.
  • Provide regular training and updates to agent networks via webinar or face to face sessions to ensure collaborative approach.
  • Support marketing and recruitment initiatives for South Asia and ensure that admission requirements are factored into these initiatives.
Person Specification:
  • Significant management and leadership experience within the international tertiary education sector. Knowledge of Australian and overseas tertiary education, university systems and procedures is desirable.
  • Proven expertise in the coordination of people, resources and projects; and experience in initiating and managing change; prioritising, monitoring and evaluating work performance and flow; and meeting deadlines in a complex and demanding environment.
  • Proven ability to exercise initiative, to think strategically and creatively and to adopt an active approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to deal effectively with a diverse range of clients, partners, stakeholders and authorities, and demonstrated experience in the preparation of policy documents, high quality briefings, submissions, reports and correspondence.
  • Strong customer service orientation and proven experience in relationship management.
  • Demonstrated experience in the ability to work with and understand the needs of clients from a diverse range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of standard office desktop software as well as more advanced applications in preparation of various spreadsheets and reporting formats.
  • Significant and current knowledge of the student visa program and simplified student visa framework in order to effectively manage University’s evidentiary level (risk rating)
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge in compliance and legislative requirement related to international students including but not limited to ESOS Legislative and TEQSA National Code of Practice.
  • Significant knowledge of international qualifications and assessment of overseas student applications including assessment of English proficiency

Availability and start date:
Immediate, however any notice period for the right candidate will be honored.
NOTE:
  • Able to work occasional ‘out-of-hours’ and weekends at peak times.
  • Willingness to travel when required within India and potentially to other countries (a valid passport being the expectation).
Education:
Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of qualifications and extensive relevant experience. Fluency in a language other than English is desirable.

New Delhi.
