Overview of the Indian Study Abroad market
Every year, international education expands as more institutions and countries diversify and expand their international student populations. The number of globally mobile students grows by about 8% every single year. By 2025, there will be more than 8 million overseas students in the world.
With a population of over 1.4 billion people, India is a strong contender for sending its students abroad for higher education. While India has numerous famous colleges and universities, such as the IITs and IIMs, the desire for higher education appears to be limitless. Number of Indian students going abroad has been increasing steadily over the years. From 2016 to 2019, it climbed from 440,000 to 770,000. In 2021, there were 1,133,749 Indian students abroad and it is estimated to grow 1,800,000 by 2024.
